5. Plans return from engineering with stamp, your representative orders your building.
6. Building is delivered to your site.
How long does the process take?
1. Engineering Package—7 to 10 working days.
2. Permit approval—two to three weeks.
›› Check with your local building department for lead times in your area to get permit approval.
3. Building Delivery–2 to 3 weeks.
Are there other things I need to think about?
1. Snow loading, wind speed, exposure, soil density variances, etc.
2. Aesthetics.
›› Windows
›› Trim
›› Siding Choices
What clearances are needed for the door selected?
1. For overhead doors you need 18” additional height for door track and 3” on each side for the side door track.
›› What are you putting in the building? If your boat and trailer have a combined height of 10 feet, you need to plan on a building with 12 foot doors
2. Consider a canister door to save space.
How much will it cost?
We can accurately design a building to your specifications. Our software instantly calculates the price of the finished product (no more waiting days or weeks for a bid). We can design the building which fits your needs AND budget too!
Do you provide financing?
We work with Equity One. They will finance up to 5 years, with no prepayment penalty.
What
materials are used in the construction of the buildings?
Every
building, regardless of style or size, is made exclusively of galvanized
steel.
The determination of the weight of the steel for all the structural components
is made by our licensed structural engineers after examining various criteria,
including the distance of the span width and bays, as well as the snow
and
wind loads. Our exterior cladding or sheeting is generally 26-gauge or 29-gauge
galvanized steel.
Are the buildings only available in standard sizes or are they custom designed?
Every
building is custom designed and manufactured exactly to the customer’s
needs – right down to the inch. Therefore, if boundary lines or other
factors limit you, we can maximize the size of your building exactly to what
is permissible.
Are the buildings competitively priced?
Very
much so! Even though our buildings are high quality material and custom
designed,
we are able to sell at very competitive prices due to our low overhead expenses
and our national buying power from our manufacturers and suppliers.
Are there various options available for the buildings?
Yes. There is a wide assortment of garage or barn doors, personal access doors,
windows, insulation products, etc. We can also arrange for horse stalls and
such amenities as cupolas and window shutters.
Do
the buildings come in many colors?
Yes, in many attractive colors that enable you to color coordinate the roof,
walls, trim and doors according to your particular likeness.
How is the steel colored?
All the cladding and trim is factory painted with Metal Sales MS Colorfast45
finishes. The roof sheets are also available in a standard Galvalume coating.
Regardless of the coating selected, they are all warranted
against rust, peeling, cracking, flaking, chalking, and fading.
Does
the sheeting or exterior cladding come in different patterns?
Yes. Standard Classic-Rib, as well as optional R/PBR-Panel, Stile, Harborwood,
and IC-72, are all available from which to select.
Do the buildings come insulated?
This is up to the buyer. We offer a variety of different types of vapor barriers
and R-values to meet the buyer’s specific needs. Included in these
options are the versatile, environmentally safe, reflective Low-E insulation
and vapor barriers. All of our insulation products are specifically made
for steel framed structures.
Do the buildings meet building code requirements?
Thanks to our staff of certified, registered structural engineers, we are
able to design each building according to the customer’s specific code
requirements. Snow and wind loads will be carefully factored before the engineers
provide stamped drawings.
How
many weeks will it take to receive a building?
Each building order requires three steps: the engineering phase followed
by the manufacturing and then the delivery. Generally the complete process
takes four
to five weeks. More extensive or custom engineering requirements could sometimes
delay this process.
